About Zen House Satori

Experience complete tranquility in the Zen-like environment this exceptional retreat provides. Located less than an hour’s travel time from New York City, Zen House Satori consists of an architecturally significant mid-century modern ranch home set within a 3.5 acre private estate in Fairfield County, Connecticut. This is the ideal setting for a memorable romantic getaway, solo adventures and business travelers – not to mention photoshoots and film locations!

Our Intriguing Backstory

As breathtaking as this property is, its story is equally noteworthy. Zen House Satori originally was part of a large area of land owned by Gutzon Borglum – the master sculptor who designed and carved Mount Rushmore. The unique stone walls on the property were constructed by Borglum to serve as his outdoor studio. These same walls now surround the pool house, and imbue the estate’s grounds with their invitingly mystical character and sense of privacy.

Our Amenities

The pool house features a great room, white kitchen, guest room and two baths. Our 60-foot lap pool is exquisitely lit, creating an enchanting evening environment. Those who truly love mid-century modern design will find their stay at Zen House Satori an experience that is not likely to ever be surpassed!

Activities and Nearby Points of Interest

Zen House Satori is convenient to fine dining restaurants, art galleries and shopping. Visit the beach, and/or the storied Rippowam River to round out your stay. Whatever you choose to do – or not do – you’ve found the perfect place! Schedule your visit today.

The home was beautiful and Olga was a fantastic host, with many thoughtful suggestions and attentiveness. We took the trip to have some quiet time in a peaceful environment and were delighted at every turn. The home is like staying at a 5 star resort (including plush bath robes!)

The Zen House and the surrounding grounds were simply amazing. There is no place else like this – just amazing! It would be the perfect romantic hideaway – or just a marvelous place for a solo traveler or couple to just relax and experience the amazing peace of this place. And Olga is a delightful host. Welcomed me graciously, gave me a personal tour of the expansive grounds, and provided all kinds of suggestions for local things to do and places to go. She was easily available by text if needed – but everything was so well set up, there wasn’t a need to reach out. And she provided wonderful privacy during my three spectacular day stay! Without exaggeration, this was my very best stay – anywhere – ever!

Olga is really a superhost! Extremely responsive. Proactive in reaching out, giving recommendations and tips on how to enjoy the property and nearby area. The area is very quiet and peaceful (zen indeed!) we cooked one night and found all the cooking appliances and condiments we were looking for fully equipped in the kitchen. There were many clean towels in the bathroom. The shower had shampoo, conditioner and body wash! The house had very nice heating/cooling that you could adjust to your liking. The location is very close to both Grace Farm and The Glass House, which we took full advantage of. Highly recommend Olga and her Zen House.

We have been staying in quiet a few Airbnb places but this by far exceeded our expectations. Olga is a wonderful person and host and her love and passion for the zen house shows in all the special details. She makes sure that her guests feel at home and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The grounds are beautiful as well and we will be back to enjoy and use the pool. It is a magical place and perfect getaway or romantic weekend.
